Trouble with baclofen?

my mother is a 53 years old women with hypertension who is currently taking 10 mg of lovastatine and amlodipine. due to her numbness as the effect of hypertrophied ligamentum flavum (spinal stenosis) doctor prescribed her with 10 mg of baclofen to be consumed twice daily....will baclofen help with the disease and for your information my mum has taken the medicine for about a week but the effect has not kick in...
