I want to make a gay pride parade event on facebook inviting friends. Should i?

So im 17 years old and a lesbian and not too many people know of my orientation. I want to make this event on facebook because it really does mean alot to me. Do you think its a good idea? Im proud of who i am, and i know that this doesnt necessarily mean im gay, but i dont know if im going too out there. I really want to raise awareness for supporting the LGBT community and have alot of people from my school go to this parade. NOTE: My school is extremely accepting of LGBT's.
