Is there any lee-way with the 14 day deadline to apply for a speed awareness course?

I've just got back of my holiday and found a letter on my doormat offering me a speed awareness course as opposed to 3 points on my licence. I had 14 days to reply which meant the deadline was friday 24th June. Is there any lee-way, ie if I sent if off today would they let me off or not?
